Thank you for agreeing to provide a review for Genetics in Medicine (GIM) and Genetics in Medicine Open (GIMO). We owe the success of the journal to our reviewers ‐ clinicians, scientists, and scholars who take time out of their busy schedules to carefully read and critique manuscripts contributing to the integrity and quality of scholarly publications. Please refer to ACMG Journals guidelines and policies below on eligibility to receive CME credit for peer review of a manuscript under consideration with the journal.

Participating in the review process may lead the reviewer to identify gaps in knowledge of their field, learn new skills, or reinforce existing expertise in their practice in order to complete the review process effectively.
At the conclusion of a review, participants should be able to:
1. Analyze the manuscript and understand and communicate its strengths and weaknesses
2. Summarize the quality and applicability of the manuscript to the field of medical genetics and genomics
3. Describe the impact of the manuscript on their own practice and/or research

Credit Designation (3 hours per review and up to 15 credits per calendar year)
The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics designates this manuscript review activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per year. Physicians should claim only the credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The American Medical Association (AMA) defines physicians as those individuals who have obtained an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from another country. Non-physicians may request a certificate of attendance for their participation.

When submitting your review to an ACMG Journal, click “YES” if you would like to receive CME/CE credit for your review. You will be awarded CME/CE credit if your review meets the following requirements:
- Submitted in a timely manner
- Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of the manuscript
- Communicates review feedback effectively to the editors
- You will receive an invitation code to enroll in the course from the editorial staff.
- After successful enrollment you may complete the self-report form, respond to self-assessment questions, and claim credits.

Financial Disclosures
This activity is offered as self-directed continuing education under Exception 3 of Standard 3 of the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. The reviewer sets their own learning goals, conducts independent appraisal of the manuscript to fill gaps in their knowledge, and reports on the resulting changes through the review and credit-claim process. Because the learner controls their own educational goals and reports on the changes that resulted, the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics is not required to identify, mitigate, or disclose relevant financial relationships of the reviewers as learners.
