2026 Gene Therapy Bootcamp - Application in Neurodevelopment Disorders - OnDemand

Hosted by The Education and Professional Development Committee

Explore the evolving landscape of gene therapy, including gene replacement, gene editing, and other nucleic-acid–based approaches. This session will provide a practical, clinically oriented update on the latest developments and their implications for medical genetics practice in 2026. Speakers will highlight applications in neurodevelopmental disorders and showcase the FDA-approved gene therapy ladocagene exuparvovec-tneq, while addressing key considerations such as underlying genetic mechanisms, dosage windows, preclinical modeling, clinical endpoints, biomarkers, and risk-benefit assessment.

The Horizon of Prenatal Therapies for Genetic Disorders - OnDemand

Hosted by The Education and Professional Development Committee

Learn about the evolving therapies available to treat fetuses affected by complicated genetic disorders. In this session, presenters will review the fetal presentation of lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and discuss novel therapeutic strategies including an ongoing phase 1 clinical trial of in utero enzyme replacement for LSDs and the prenatal use of an SMN2 splicing modifier to treat fetuses with SMA.

From Evidence to Action: Scaling Pharmacogenomics in Clinical Practice
Key Insights from the 2026 ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting- R. Rodney Howell Symposium OnDemand

Session Description

Pharmacogenomics (PGx) offers the promise of improved medication safety and effectiveness through evidence-based genetic testing and prescribing guidance. While many institutions have demonstrated feasibility, scaling PGx across complex health systems requires coordinated strategies in laboratory operations, clinician education, informatics infrastructure, and clinical decision support.

This focused webinar distills key implementation lessons from national leaders featured in the 2026 ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting R. Rodney Howell Symposium. Participants will explore practical approaches that have successfully moved pharmacogenomics from pilot programs to sustained clinical integration.

Preparatory Material (Optional)
Participants are encouraged to watch the two-hour recording of the R. Rodney Howell Symposium (presented March 14, 2026, at the ACMG Annual Meeting in Baltimore) prior to attending.

Join the live webinar for a focused discussion of key insights and practical strategies for scaling pharmacogenomics in clinical practice.

Beyond the Common Aneuploidies: Optimal Diagnostic Workup and Counseling Following Positive cfDNA Screening
An educational offering sponsored by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) with contributions from the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM)

Session Description

Prenatal cell-free DNA (cfDNA) screening has become an important noninvasive method for assessing fetal chromosomal abnormalities and supporting prenatal risk evaluation. This session will provide an overview of interpreting positive cfDNA screening results beyond common aneuploidies, including rare autosomal aneuploidies, sex chromosome conditions, and copy number alterations, while discussing appropriate confirmatory diagnostic testing options. Speakers will also address patient counseling strategies for positive or discordant cfDNA results, including limitations of the technology, positive predictive value considerations, and approaches to diagnostic testing and clinical management.
