Evidence Based Guidelines Webinar 201: Exome and Genome Sequencing for Pediatric Patients with Congenital Anomalies or Intellectual Disability

 

Course Description:

For Evidence Based Guidelines Webinar Series 201: Exome and Genome Sequencing for Pediatric Patients with Congenital Anomalies or Intellectual Disability, join us for a one-hour webinar that will explore in detail the evidence used in the review process, how the evidence was translated into a recommendation using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) framework, and how the guideline can implemented in genetics and non-genetics practice.

 

 Target Audience:

Healthcare Providers (genetics providers, non-genetics providers who have attended the 101 webinar, healthcare providers who manage patients with congenital anomalies and/or intellectual disabilities)

 

 

Learning Objectives:

 

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the general framework used to develop the recommendation.
  • Describe two pieces of evidence used to support the recommendation.
  • Identify patients that may benefit from exome or genome sequencing and when in the diagnostic workup exome or genome sequencing should be considered.

Evidence Based Guidelines Webinar Series: Exome and Genome Sequencing for Pediatric Patients with Congenital Anomalies or Intellectual Disability The Evidence-Based Guidelines Webinar Series, supported by the National Coordinating Center for the Regional Genetics Networks (NCC) and ACMG, is a two-part webinar series for each of the ACMG Evidence-Based Guidelines that will provide an overview and application of the evidence-based guideline (101) and then provide a deeper-diver into the evidence used to support the recommendation (201).

The two webinars’ dates and topics include:

National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC Self-report)

This activity meets requirements to apply for Category 2 CEUs from the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC). Please complete the evaluation and submit your certificate to NSGC, using the instructions for “How To Submit a Category 2 CEU Application in the NSGC CEU Portal.” ACMG is the accredited sponsor. You must apply within 30 days of the activity date. NSGC will charge a processing fee of $25 for this activity. ACMG does not report attendance to NSGC for this activity.
